SAAC Sponsors More Crusaders Thundersticks Events

SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will hand out free Orange and Maroon thundersticks at a number of Susquehanna's remaining spring 2010 sports events.

The first 25 fans to enter the Sassafras Fields venue stands for SU's Landmark Conference men's and women's lacrosse games against Drew University and Goucher College, respectively, on Saturday, April 24, will receive a free set of the thundersticks. The men will play at 12 p.m., and the women will follow at approximately 3 p.m. April 24 is Senior Day for Susquehanna men's lacrosse.

Each set after the first 25 are handed out can be purchased for a suggested donation of $3. All proceeds benefit SAAC.

The same promotion will be held at Susquehanna softball's Landmark doubleheader against Moravian College at Sassafras on Saturday, May 1, at 1 p.m. The Crusaders will celebrate Senior Day then as well.

The first 25 fans to enter the Harold Bollinger Field venue stands for Susquehanna baseball's Landmark doubleheader with the United States Merchant Marine Academy at the same time that day will also receive free thundersticks.

Thundersticks, long and narrow plastic balloons used to create noise, have become increasingly popular at sporting events around the world.
