FORT PIERCE, Fla. – With two outs in the bottom of the tenth inning, sophomore center fielder Ty Raubenstine (Elizabethville, Pa. / Upper Dauphin Area) cracked a walk-off two-run single to defeat Westminster (Pa.) 6-5 on Friday afternoon and sweep the double header.

Nick Ferlise (Toms River, N.J. / Toms River North) singled and Alex Miskovsky (Manchester Center, Vt. / Burr & Burton Academy) walked to start the bottom of the tenth. Ken Kayama (Koto-Ku, Japan / Solebury, Pa.) then moved the runners into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt.

The Titans (5-5) intentionally walked Mike Rucereto (Washington Twp., N.J. / Bergen Catholic) to load the bases. With two outs, Raubenstine hit the game winner to score Ferlise and Miskovsky.

Raubenstine finished the game going 2-for-4 with three RBI, including a triple earlier to tie the contest at 3-3. Ethan Reiker (Lancaster, Pa. / Manheim Twp.) drove in two runs and Nick Kennedy (Brookeville, Md. / Good Council) picked up an RBI for the Crusaders (5-6).

Spencer Hotaling (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area) picked up the win on the mound for SU.

Earlier in the day, SU won the first contest 2-0 behind a strong pitching performance from freshman Zach Place (Towanda, Pa. / Towanda Area).

Place pitched a complete game shutout, scattering three hits while walking one and striking out five, earning his first win for the Orange & Maroon.

Ferlise went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Kennedy picked up two hits for SU.

The Crusaders wrap up their Spring Training trip in Florida against Centenary (N.J.) tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m.
