The Week Ahead in SU Sports

Week of: March 12 – 18

Women’s Lacrosse: The Crusaders host Marymount (Va.) on Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. Live stats can be accessed here. SU travels to Alvernia on Saturday for a 12:00 p.m. game.

This past weekend, SU defeated King’s (Pa.) 16-5 at Edgewood High School in Maryland. Michelle McGinniss, Brynn Reid and Erin Dyer all recorded hat-tricks in that contest.

The Crusaders beat Lynchburg 19-11 the following day. Emily Stankaitis recorded 15 saves in goal and was named Landmark Conference Goalie of the Week.

This is the first time SU is 3-0 under head coach Laura Moan.

Men’s Lacrosse
: SU hosts Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. and opens up conference play against Drew on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Live stats for both games can be found here.

The Orange & Maroon won both their games over spring break and improved to 3-2 on the season. SU defeated Oglethorpe 18-3 and Wittenberg 12-5.

Dustin Breakey earned Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals and seven assists for 13 points in both contests.

Baseball: The Crusaders will look to continue their three-game winning streak as they host Muhlenberg on Friday. Live stats can be found here.

SU hosts Merchant Marine for the first conference action this season with a double-header on Saturday and a single game on Sunday. Live stats for Sunday’s game can be found here.

Zach Place and Ethan Reiker were named Landmark Pitcher and Player of the Week following their performances in Fort Pierce, Fla. over Spring Break.

Softball: SU hosts a double-header against pre-season favorite Moravian on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The Crusaders went 6-4 during their trip to Clermont, Fla. Lisa Finizio posted a .500 batting average with 13 hits, four RBI, seven runs scored and four stolen bases.

Tennis:  Both teams play Catholic in their first home meet of the spring season. The Crusaders competed in Hilton Head, S.C. during spring break.
