Finizio, Rieker Selected as Super Crusaders

SELINSGROVE, Pa. –Baseball and softball are represented this week as seniors Ethan Rieker (Lancaster, Pa. / Manheim Twp.) and Lisa Finizio (Oakland, N.J. / Indian Hills) have been selected as the SAAC Super Crusaders for the period ending April 1.

Finizio had a solid week at the plate for SU, going 10-for-15 (.667) over four games. In game one against Gettysburg (L, 8-7), she went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base. In game two (W, 3-2), she batted 4-for-4 with a double and triple.

At Landmark Conference opponent Catholic she went 2-for-4 with two RBI in game one (W, 7-6) and 1-for-3 with an RBI in game two (W, 8-5).

For the season, Finizio has started all 21 contests, leads the team in batting average (.543), hits (38), runs (21), triples (4) and stolen bases (7-for-10). She has 11 RBI, two doubles, .686 slugging percentage, one sacrifice fly and seven sacrifice hits. In centerfield she only has committed on error for a .963 fielding percentage. She has helped lead the Crusaders to a 14-8, 4-1 record.

Rieker also had an excellent week batting, going 8-for-14 (.571) in four contests. Against Elizabethtown (W, 4-3), he went 2-for-4 including a double. In the weekend series at Landmark foe Moravian, he went 2-for-3 with a double, home run and three RBI in game one (W, 5-4). In game two (L, 11-1), he batted 2-for-3 with an RBI. In the finale (L, 8-6), he went 2-for-4 with another homer and two RBI.

He has started 21 of 22 games, leads the team in batting average (.488), homers (3), hits (39), doubles (10) and slugging percentage (.750). Rieker has only struck out six times in 80 at-bats, scored 14 runs and has a team-high 27 RBI. Rieker is also 3-for-3 on stolen bases.

Rieker has helped SU to a 12-12, 2-4 record this spring.
