Susquehanna Places Second in Final President Cup’s Standings

TOWSON, Md. – Susquehanna University finished second in the final 2012-13 Landmark Conference President’s Cup standings, released Wednesday morning.

The Crusaders, who won the 2011-12 President’s Cup, finished with an average score of 7.63, placing just behind 2012-13 President’s Cup winner the Catholic University of America, which finished with an average score of 7.82.

Susquehanna, which stood in fourth place following the winter season, won Landmark Conference spring championships in softball, women’s lacrosse and men’s lacrosse. SU also finished with second-place finishes in both men’s and women’s outdoor track & field.

The Cup, which was created in the conference’s inaugural year to recognize the best overall athletics program, is awarded based on a formula that rewards institutions for their regular season conference standings as well as results in Landmark postseason competition. Each team receives points based on their finish. Individual sports use the championship team standings to award points and then add points for individual finishes.
