Susquehanna Second in Landmark Conference President’s Cup

TOWSON, Md. – Susquehanna University stands in second place in the most updated Landmark Conference President's Cup standings.

Scranton finished with 30 points over the winter season to move into first place with an average of 7.03 while SU maintains an average of 7.02. Susquehanna added almost 45 points this winter after a Landmark title in women's swimming & diving and runner-up finishes in men's basketball, men's swimming & diving, men's indoor track & field and women's indoor track & field.

The Cup is awarded based on a formula that rewards institutions for regular season conference standings as well as results in Landmark postseason play. Each team receives points based on their finish with top seeded teams receiving eight points, second-place teams receiving seven points, etc. Additional points are awarded for conference postseason victories.

Individual sports use the championship team standings to award points and then add points for individual finishes. Each individual event champion in swimming and track & field receives 0.25 points.

The Landmark Conference sponsors 20 sports but at the end of the year only the top 15 sport totals from each institution are included to account for differences in sport sponsorships across the eight institutions.
