SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Baseball and softball are represented as this week’s Pepsi/SAAC Super Crusaders as junior pitcher Spencer Hotaling (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area) and sophomore outfielder Amanda Neveroski (Toms River, N.J. / Toms River North) have been recognized.
Hotaling, who was also named the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week, threw a two-hit, complete game at Moravian on Sunday and had a no-hitter through 6.1 innings. The junior allowed only one unearned run on just two hits and issued one walk while striking out six.
This season, Hotaling is 2-2 with a 2.93 ERA in seven starts and has thrown a conference-high 43.0 innings. The junior has allowed 14 earned runs with just 14 walks and has tallied 25 strikeouts with opponents hitting .232 against him.
The Crusaders (16-6, 7-2 Landmark) host Scranton in a Landmark Conference series starting on Saturday.
Neveroski, meanwhile, helped SU to a 4-0 league record over the weekend after sweeping Catholic and Elizabethtown on the road.
Starting all four contests, Neveroski had at least one hit in each game and recorded three hits in two games. The sophomore finished with one triple, one home run, five RBI and did not strike out once in the leadoff position.
This year, Neveroski has started all 19 games for SU and is hitting .328 with 15 runs, 21 hits, 11 RBI and a .469 slugging percentage.
This week, SU (11-9, 6-0 Landmark) hosts Wilkes and Muhlenberg on Thursday and Saturday, respectively, before hosting league opponent Scranton on Sunday.
