Hood, Palsi Earn All-Region Accolades

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna junior pitcher Casey Hood (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) and sophomore third baseman Bryan Palsi (Brielle, N.J./Manasquan) have earned American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region honors. Hood, a starting pitcher, was a First-Team recipient while Palsi earned a spot on the Third Team.

Hood and Palsi were two of nine total Landmark Conference baseball players to earn spots on the All-Region Teams.

Hood, who earlier this month was named a D3Baseball.com First-Team All-Region player, was also the 2014 Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year. He led the Crusaders with a 9-1 record, setting the program mark for most wins in a single season. Hood finished the season with a 2.76 EA, 54 strikeouts and just five walks.

Palsi, meanwhile, was second on the team in batting average (.352) with 29 runs scored and 57 hits, including 10 doubles, four triples and a team-leading three home runs. The sophomore boasted a .519 slugging percentage with 37 RBI, 84 total bases and a .426 on-base percentage. He earned Second-Team All-Landmark Conference recognition.

Susquehanna finished the season with a program-best 30 victories en route to earning the team's first-ever Landmark Conference title and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
