Leone, Cassinelli Named ACBL All-Stars

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna baseball players Zach Leone (Pelham, N.Y./Fordham Prep/University of Massachusetts) and Justin Cassinelli (Valhalla, N.Y./Valhalla/SUNY Westchester CC) have been named Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL) All-Stars.

Leone, a First-Team All-Landmark Conference catcher, is currently batting .356 for the Staten Island Tide with 21 RBI. Cassinelli, an outfielder, is hitting for a .382 average with two home runs and 15 RBI for the Tide.

A rising junior who transferred to SU prior to the 2014-15 academic year, Leone led the Crusaders in batting average (.402), hits (47), doubles (10), RBI (29) and slugging percentage (.556) this past spring. He started all 32 games in which he played, primarily at catcher, and boasted a .877 fielding percentage.

Cassinelli, also a transfer to Susquehanna prior to 2014-15, boasted a .356 batting average for SU this past season with 27 runs scored, 42 hits – including 10 doubles , four home runs and 19 RBI. He started all 34 games in which he played.
