ANASCO, Puerto Rico – The Susquehanna baseball team defeated SUNY-Canton in Puerto Rico Saturday afternoon.
The Crusaders (5-6) defeated SUNY-Canton (3-7) by a score of 4-1. Cory Fallon (2-0) earned the win in seven innings of work while allowing only one run and striking out seven.
SUNY-Canton scored the first run of the day in the fourth inning to take a 1-0 lead.
Susquehanna answered in the fifth with four runs to take a 4-1 lead. Palsi singled to score Justin Cassinelli (1-1) and was immediately followed by a Jenkins single which scored Luckenbill (2-1). A single from Giamio gave SU the 3-1 lead and Jenkins scored on a wild pitch to increase the lead to three (4-1).
Neither team scored for the remainder of the game as the Crusaders held on to win 4-1.
The Crusaders wrap up their spring break trip on Sunday, March 13 when they take on Arcadia in a 9:00 a.m. game.
