Baseball Completes Series Sweep of Catholic

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna baseball team completed a three-game sweep of Landmark Conference rival Catholic on Tuesday with a 3-0 win. The game was rescheduled for Tuesday after Saturday's original contest was snowed out.

Pitcher John Cooley tossed a complete game shutout, allowing four hits and no runs while striking out eight in nine innings of work.

Justin Cassinelli led the offense going 2-3 at the plate with one run scored. Tom Giaimo went 2-3 while Bryan Palsi went 2-4. Dylan Jenkins picked up a RBI with a double while Zach Leone and Josh Cimino tallied the remaining two RBI's.

In the first inning, Leone singled to left center to score Justin Cassinelli and Jenkins followed with a double down the right field line to score Leone to give SU the 2-0 lead.

The Crusaders (18-9, 11-1) scored an insurance run in the seventh inning when Cimino hit a sacrifice fly to score Dylan Glassmire.

SU remains at home to host Wesley College on Thursday, April 14 for a 4:00 p.m. game.
