Six Wins in a Row for SU Baseball

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna baseball team captured its sixth-straight win with Thursday's 18-9 victory over visiting Wesley College.

Bryan Palsi went 3-for-3 with eight RBIs and three runs scored with a triple and two home runs, including a grand slam. Zach Leone also had a home run and the Crusaders (19-9) talliedo six doubles from six different players.

SU pounded out 16 hits in total, 10 of which went for extra bases. The team scored at least one run in six innings while holding the Wolverines (18-14) without a run for six of nine innings.

The two teams combined to use eight pitchers with SU starter Bobby Klatt pitching six innings of four-run ball (three earned) to pick up his third win of the spring.

Wesley struck first with a run in the first inning before Susquehanna broke through for six runs in the bottom half of the first and never looked back. Palsi's grand slam accounted for four of those six runs.

Leone knocked a one-out home run to left field in the second inning before Palsi drove in another run on his triple to right center.

The next inning Palsi's three-run homer made it a 13-4 SU lead. The Crusaders tacked on three runs in the fourth and solo runs in the fifth and sixth to take an 18-4 lead into the seventh inning.

The Wolverines plated three runs in the seventh and two more in the ninth but SU's lead more than held up.

Susquehanna hits the road to face Moravian in a three-game conference series beginning with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on April 16.
