Baseball Names Seven to All-Landmark Teams

TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna baseball team has seven players named to All-Landmark Conference teams, four to the First Team and three to the Second Team.

Senior outfielder Justin Cassinelli, senior designated hitter Matt Cassinelli, junior relief-pitcher Liam Conboy and sophomore catcher Zach Leone have been named to the All-Conference First Team while junior starting-pitcher John Cooley, junior outfielder Taylor Luckenbill and senior third baseman Bryan Palsi made Second Team.

Justin Cassinelli leads the team in batting average (.497), runs scored (54), hits (72), home runs (11) and stolen bases (13). His 11 home runs and .497 batting average are also tops in the Landmark Conference. In addition, he has 43 RBI's, 14 doubles and three triples to go along with an .848 slugging percentage and .565 on-base percentage. He was also named the 2016 Landmark Conference Player of the Year.

Matt Cassinelli is batting .376 this season and with 44 hits, 35 runs scored, 14 doubles, two triples and 31 RBI's for 74 total bases. He has a .632 slugging percentage and is 5-for-5 in stolen bases.

Conboy has made 14 appearances and has a 2.18 earned run average (ERA). He has eight saves in 20.2 innings of work, which His eight saves places him first in the Landmark Conference.. Conboy has tallied 26 strikeouts in 77 at-bats. He has only allowed nine runs – five earned – and batters are hitting .169 against him.

Leone makes his second-straight appearance on the Landmark Conference First-Team. He is batting .449 with 62 hits, 46 RBI's, 38 runs scored, 18 doubles, one triple and seven home runs. His 46 RBI's and 18 doubles are first on the team with his RBI's leading the Landmark Conference. Leone is also second in the conference in batting average and home runs.

Cooley is 4-2 on the season with 12 appearances and nine starts. He has one complete game in 49.1 innings of work with a 3.10 ERA – second in the Landmark Conference –, 38 strikeouts and has allowed 28 runs (17 earned).

Luckenbill is batting .333 on the season with 32 hits, 22 runs scored, five doubles, three home runs and 74 RBI's. His .632 slugging percentage is third on the team and he has an on-base percentage of .457.

Palsi is second on the team in RBI's (44) and third in hits (59) and total bases (86). He has 14 doubles, two triples and three homeruns for a .589 slugging percentage. His 44 RBI's place him second in the Landmark Conference while his .404 batting average places him third.

The Crusaders are 26-14 on the season with a 16-5 mark in Landmark action and earned the No. 1 seed in the conference championships. The team will host No. 3 Elizabethtown in the Landmark Championship series on May 13-14 with the first game starting Friday, May 13 at 4:00 p.m.
