Another Postseason Honor for Cassinelli

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna's Justin Cassinelli '16 has been named a All-America outfielder.

The All-America Team includes five starting pitchers, three relief pitchers, a catcher, an entire infield, four outfielder and one utility man/designated hitter.

Cassinelli was also named the Landmark Conference Player of the Year, a All-American and a Regional Player of the Year. The senior outfielder led SU in nearly every offensive category this season, including batting average (.465), hits (86), runs (60), homeruns (12), slugging percentage (.768) and on-base percentage (.532). He started all 48 games in which he played and also drove in 49 runs, the third-best total on the team.

Cassinelli leaves SU with a career .422 batting average – currently second all-time in program history – and tied for third in homeruns (16) and tied for eighth in doubles (26).

SU racked up a program-record 33 victories this season. The team won the Landmark Conference title and went on to win four games in the NCAA Regional Tournament, including a split with No. 1 Cortland State in the championship games.
