Botchie Announces Resignation

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Head Susquehanna cheerleading coach Jen Botchie ’99 Deinlein has announced her resignation, effective March 15, 2012, allowing her to remain through the completion of the basketball season.

“There is no easy or quick way to sum up what is has meant to be Susquehanna’s cheerleading coach for the past eight years,” Botchie said. “I have been fortunate to work with very talented student-athletes and I have also enjoyed the support of fellow coaches, administrators, alumni and other members of the Crusader family. It is not easy to say goodbye, but I will always bleed Maroon and Orange.”

Deinlein is currently in the midst of her eighth season as the head cheerleading coach at Susquehanna and 12th overall as a collegiate cheerleading coach. Deinlein, a 1999 graduate of SU, earned University Honors and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in mass communications.

She spent several years as a staff member in the University’s Communications Office while simultaneously coaching cheerleading. Deinlein is also advisor to the Iota Nu chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha and a freelance writer.
