The Crusaders had their chances but could not find the end zone in a 12-6 loss at Moravian on Saturday afternoon. The game, the season and Centennial Conference opener for both squads, featured just one touchdown in one of the lowest scoring games in recent SU history.

On Saturday, the Susquehanna football team opens its 2010 season on the road with a 1 p.m. game at conference opponent Moravian. The game marks the season and conference openers for both squads.

For the second year in a row, senior punter Bobby Eppleman (Chester Springs, Pa./Great Valley) has picked up preseason honors from D3football.com. Eppleman earned an honorable mention on the list, released on Tuesday.

SU Football Picked to Finish Fourth in Centennial Preseason Poll
The Susquehanna University football team was picked to finish fourth in the preseason Centennial Conference poll as voted upon by the coaches on Aug. 5. Ten teams will compete for the Centennial Conference championship this fall.

Long Time Coach, Player and HOF Member, Jim Hazlett Passes Away at Age 84
SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Former three-sport athlete, athletic director and coach at Susquehanna University, Jim Hazlett ’52, has passed away at the age of 84 at his home in Richmond, Va. on Wednesday, Aug. 4. Hazlett was born Jan 13, 1926 in Tarentum, Pa.
