Palazzi Pulls in Player of the Week Honor
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna senior quarterback
Rich Palazzi (Newfoundland,
Pa./Wallenpaupack) was instrumental in helping his
squad take down Wilkes in overtime on Saturday and his efforts
earned him Centennial Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week
honors.
Palazzi completed 36-of-57 passes for 421 yards and four
touchdowns in SU’s 33-30 overtime, home-opening victory. His
final score set up the game-tying two-point conversion with 10
seconds left in the game.
His 36 completions are the best single-game mark in program
history while his 421 yards are good for second all-time in
single-game history, behind only Todd Coolidge (494 vs. Muhlenberg
– Sept. 12, 1987).
The Crusaders look for back-to-back wins on Saturday, Sept. 10
when they hit the road to play their Centennial Conference opener
at Johns Hopkins. Kickoff is 2 p.m.
