SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Volleyball and football are represented in this week's SAAC Super Crusaders of the Week as senior right side Natalie Cicioni (Frackville, Pa. / North Schuylkill) and senior running back Greg Tellish (Mount Airy, Md. / South Carroll) were honored for the week ending Nov. 6.
Cicioni had a .500 attack percentage in the Landmark Conference semifinal win over Catholic with 12 kills, no errors and 24 total attempts.
In the opening-set win over Juniata, she hit .333 with no errors. The first-set victory over Juniata was the first conference loss for the Eagles since 2001.
In 2011, she appeared in 37 of 38 matches, recorded 181 kills (1.48 kps), .163 attack percentage, 48 assists, 55 digs, 65 blocks and averaged 1.77 points per set.
Cicioni helped her team to a 19-19 overall record and earn the No. 2 seed in the postseason tournament with a 5-1 conference mark.
On Senior Day, Tellish rushed for 167 yards on 23 carries and one touchdown against McDaniel (29-14 W). His one score came on a school-record 91 yard run from scrimmage breaking the mark held by Tom O'Neill in 1979.
In 2011, Tellish has played in all nine games for the Crusaders and leads the team in net rushing yards (900), carries (203) touchdowns (11) and scoring (76 points). He has 22 receptions for 353 yards and one score (31.2 ypg) and averages 4.4 yards per carry and 100 yards rushing per game.
Tellish has guided the team to a 6-3, 5-3 record in 2011 with one game remaining at Juniata on Saturday. The team is guaranteed a winning record, both overall and in conference play.
