The Week Ahead in SU Sports

Week of: Sept. 3-9

Field Hockey: SU has a pair of matches this week, both against non-conference opponents. The Crusaders travel to Gwynedd-Mercy on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 4:00 p.m. Live stats can be found here. Video can be accessed here.

SU heads to St. John Fisher on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 1:00 p.m. Live stats can be found here. Video can be seen here.

The Crusaders won their first two games of 2012 against Dickinson and Albright. Senior Nicole Solino (Madison, N.J. / Madison) leads the team with three goals.

Football: The Crusaders host Johns Hopkins in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8. Live stats can be accessed here. Radio can be found here and video can be found here.

SU defeated USMMA 37-21 last Saturday. The Crusaders scored twenty unanswered points in the second half, highlighted by two defensive touchdowns by seniors Jack McCarty (Westminster, Md. / South Carroll) and Jalon Scott (Albany, N.Y. / Albany).

Men's Soccer: The Crusaders host rival Lycoming for the Battle of the Boot on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 7:00 p.m. Live stats can be found here.

SU will be competing in the York Tournament on Sept. 8-9. The Crusaders play William Paterson on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and will face York or McDaniel on Sunday. Live stats for both matches can be found here.

SU won both of its matches over the weekend, including a thrilling 2-1 double overtime win over Grove City as freshman Gannon Keller (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area / Bloomsburg) scored the game winner.

Volleyball: The Crusaders will be competing in the Endicott Invitational on Sept. 7-8 in Beverly, Mass. Live stats for the match against Endicott can be found here.

SU went 2-2 in the Haverford Invitational with Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J. / James Caldwell) picking up 42 kills over the weekend. Julia Caruso (Collegeville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) had 57 assists and Hayley Dunkel (Pottsville, Pa. / Pottsville Area) had 15 total blocks for the Crusaders in the invite.

Women's Soccer: SU hosts rival Lycoming in the River Derby on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7:00 p.m. and non-conference opponent Misericordia on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 1:00 p.m. Live stats for both games can be found here.

The Crusaders conclude their busy week with a trip to Pitt-Bradford on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 2:00 p.m.

SU opened up the season with a 1-0 overtime win at Cabrini and a 2-0 victory at King's. Laura Buriak (Salem, Va. / Salem) scored the game-winner against the Cavaliers.
