
SELISNGROVE, Pa. – At Friday’s eighth Quarterback
Club Luncheon of the year, Susquehanna sophomore kicker
Spencer Hotaling (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove
Area) was named the Wealth Professionals/Gus Weber Player
of the Week for his performance against Ursinus last Friday
night.
Against the Bears, Hotaling punted five times for an average of
46.6 yards, including a 56-yard punt. He put two of those five
punts inside the Bears’ own 20-yard line. Hotaling also had
one kickoff for 56 yards.
For the season, Hotaling has 29 kickoffs for an average of 58.6
yards per kick, 26 punts (seven inside the 20-yard line) for an
average of 38.8 yards per punt and is a perfect 4-for-4 on field
goal attempts.
Wealth Professionals of Shamokin has partnered with SU as the
official sponsor of the Player of the Week Award. The sponsorship
was spearheaded by Ken Shedleski, the owner and
president of Wealth Professionals.
The award is also named in honor of late Susquehanna president
Gustave Weber, who was SU’s president for more than 18 years
who was also an avid Crusader athletics booster who actually served
as head football coach for the final two games of the 1965
season.
The Crusaders are back home to host Franklin & Marshall on
Saturday at 1 p.m.
