Ritter, Scott Honored by Centennial Conference

LANCASTER, Pa. – Susquehanna seniors Mike Ritter (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) and Jalon Scott (Albany, N.Y./Albany HS) were honored as the Centennial Conference's Offensive and Special Teams Football Players of the Week, respectively, on Sunday morning.

Ritter, who was officially Co-Offensive Player of the Week with McDaniel's running back Joe Rollins, caught six passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns in SU's 42-38 win at McDaniel Saturday afternoon. One of those receptions for a long of 64 yards and he accounted for three of the Crusaders' four touchdowns against the Green Terror.

For the season, Ritter has started all nine games and easily leads SU in all receiving categories: yards (777), receptions (49) and touchdowns (10). His 10 touchdowns are a team-high and he is averaging 86.3 yards per game and 15.9 yards per catch.

Scott, meanwhile, returned a kick for a touchdown at McDaniel and blocked a Green Terror PAT attempt. He finished with three punt returns for 120 yards (long of 84) yesterday.

Through nine games this season, Scott has 14 kick returns for 333 yards and two touchdowns and is averaging 23.8 yards per returns. He also has five punt returns for 51 yards.

With the win over the Green Terror, Susquehanna improved to 5-4 on the season with a 4-4 mark in Centennial Conference games. The Crusaders conclude their regular season on Saturday, Nov. 10 with a 1 p.m. home game against rival Juniata on what is both Senior Day for SU as well as family weekend for the entire campus community.
