Kolmer Named Wealth Professionals/Gus Weber Player of the Week

SELISNGROVE, Pa. – At Friday’s 10th and final Quarterback Club Luncheon of the year, Susquehanna sophomore quarterback Taylor Kolmer (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville) was named the Wealth Professionals/Gus Weber Player of the Week for his performance in SU’s win at McDaniel last Saturday.

Against the Green Terror, Kolmer went 16-for-29 with 251 passing yards, four passing touchdowns and rushed for a touchdown of his own in the 42-38 win.

Kolmer has appeared in the last seven games and started six after injuries to the first, second and third-string quarterbacks. He has passed for 1,153 yards and nine touchdowns while going 101-for-173 with just three picks.

Wealth Professionals of Shamokin has partnered with SU as the official sponsor of the Player of the Week Award. The sponsorship was spearheaded by Ken Shedleski, the owner and president of Wealth Professionals.

The award is also named in honor of late Susquehanna president Gustave Weber, who was SU’s president for more than 18 years who was also an avid Crusader athletics booster who actually served as head football coach for the final two games of the 1965 season.

The Crusaders play their final game of the 2012 season on Saturday when they host rival Juniata at 1 p.m. in the annual Goal Post Trophy game.
