Schetroma Named to All-Star Game Roster

GRANBURY, Texas – Susquehanna senior defensive lineman Ken Schetroma (Elysburg, Pa./Southern Columbia) has been selected to play in the Tazon de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars) NCAA Division III Senior All-Star Game.

Seniors representing 26 NCAA DIII schools were named to the Team Stars & Stripes late Monday afternoon. Team Stars & Stripes will compete against the CONADEIP All-Stars in the Tazon de Estrellas in Guadalajara, Mexico on Dec. 15.

This marks the fourth-straight year SU has sent a senior to the All-Star Game. Dave Paveletz ’10 played in 2009, Ryan Schumann ’11 participated in 2010 and Matt Knouse ’12 played in the 2011 game.

Schetroma, a team captain this past year, was a First-Team All-Centennial Conference player in 2012. He racked up 51 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception – the first of his career – broke up four passes and defended five more. Schetroma was a four-year player for the Crusaders and also earned Second-Team All-Centennial Conference honors as a junior.

Joining Schetroma in Mexico will be head coach Steve Briggs who was named a defensive assistant coach with Team Stars & Stripes earlier this month.
