Susquehanna Football Tabbed for Sixth-Place Finish in Preseason Poll

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Susquehanna football team, under the direction of head coach Steve Briggs, has been picked to finish sixth in the Centennial Conference Preseason Poll, announced Wednesday morning at the conference's annual media day.

Four-time defending Conference champion Johns Hopkins is the preseason favorite in a poll of head coaches and sports information directors, with voters not able to vote for their own teams. The Blue Jays received 161 points (17 first place votes) and were followed by Franklin & Marshall (139), Ursinus (122), Muhlenberg (10), Gettysburg (98) and Susquehanna (86).

The Centennial preseason poll has predicted the Conference champion in 13 of the last 15 years, including the past five seasons.

The Crusaders open their season on Sept. 7 with a non-conference road game at Merchant Marine Academy. The home opener is slated for Sept. 21 against conference opponent Dickinson.
