SELINSGROVE, Pa. – At Friday’s fourth Quarterback Club Luncheon of the season, Susquehanna senior special teams player and offensive weapon Duke Hyacinthe (Maplewood, N.J. / St. Peter’s Prep) was named the Wealth Professionals/Gus Weber Player of the Week for his performance last week against Dickinson.
Against the Red Devils, Hyacinthe returned three kicks for 66 yards (22.0 average), with a long of 27 yards. The senior also blocked a kick and had one punt return for a 14-yard gain.
This season, Hyacinthe has 168 all-purpose yards (56 ypg), and
is averaging 23.3 yards per kick return, ranking him third in the
Wealth Professionals of Shamokin has partnered with SU as the official sponsor of the Player of the Week Award for the second-straight season. The sponsorship was spearheaded by Ken Shedleski, the owner and president of Wealth Professionals. This week Hyacinthe made a donation to the American Diabetes Association.
The award is also named in honor of late Susquehanna president Gustave Weber, who was SU’s president for more than 18 years who was also an avid Crusader athletics booster who actually served as head football coach for the final two games of the 1965 season.
The Crusaders play their third road game of the season at Gettysburg tomorrow at 1 p.m.
