SELINSGROVE, Pa. – At Friday’s sixth Quarterback Club Luncheon of the year, Susquehanna junior defensive standout Jared Minori (Tyrone, Pa. / Bellwood-Antis) was named the Wealth Professionals/Gus Weber Player of the Week for his performance Oct.5 at Muhlenberg.
Against the Mules, Minori recorded a safety on a sack in the first quarter and finished the afternoon with eight total tackles, four tackles for loss and one fumble recovery.
This season, Minori has started all five contests and is second
on the team with 35 tackles. The junior leads the squad with 10.5
tackles for loss (T-1st in Centennial), 3.5 sacks and
three fumble recoveries (1st in Centennial).
Wealth Professionals of Shamokin has partnered with SU as the official sponsor of the Player of the Week Award for the second-straight season. The sponsorship was spearheaded by Ken Shedleski, owner and president of Wealth Professionals. This week Minori made a donation to the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania.
The award is also named in honor of late Susquehanna president Gustave Weber, who was SU’s president for more than 18 years who was also an avid Crusader athletics booster who actually served as head football coach for the final two games of the 1965 season.
