Richardson, Cole Named SU Pepsi/SAAC Super Crusaders

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- Football and women’s swimming & diving are represented as the Susquehanna Pepsi/SAAC Super Crusaders for the period ending Nov. 9. Senior running back Ian Richardson (Hatfield, Pa./Calvary Christian) and senior swimmer Lexi Cole (Danville, Pa./Danville) have been selected for the award.

Richardson ran for 113 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries (4.9 yard per carry) in Saturday’s 24-16 win at McDaniel. He eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the third consecutive game and has totaled 411 yards in his four games as a starter. The senior also showed his versatility against McDaniel with 61 receiving yards and a passing touchdown to put the Crusaders ahead 10-7 just before halftime.

In seven games, he has 452 rushing yards with three touchdowns and averages 4.3 yards per carry. Richardson also has 10 catches for 69 yards and one touchdown.

Cole helped lead the Crusaders to their second consecutive dual-meet win as SU defeated Landmark opponent Catholic, 152-107. The senior picked up 22 points for the Crusaders with wins in the 200 free (2:02.56) and the 500 free (5:29.03) and a second-place finish in the 100 free (57.08). Cole also competed in the 200 free relay as an exhibition.

Richardson and the football team conclude the season when they host Centennial opponent Juniata on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. Saturday also marks Homecoming Weekend as well as Senior Day. Cole and the women’s swimming & diving squad compete at Gettysburg on Nov. 15 in a 1 p.m. non-conference meet that also includes Messiah.
