SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna senior kicker Spencer Hotaling (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) has been named a USA College Football Division III First-Team Preseason All-American. In addition, senior wide receiver Denzell Walker (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh School) was named an Honorable Mention on offense.
Hotaling is one of seven Centennial Conference players to earn First-Team recognition. He is the only special teams player recognized and one of just four kickers named to the First Team.
Hotaling is coming off a First-Team All-Centennial Conference campaign in 2013, marking the third-straight year in which he was named to the First Team. Hotaling accounted for 49 points last year, going 8-of-10 on field goals and 25-of-27 on PATs. The junior booted a career-long 43-yard field goal at Franklin & Marshall, the second-longest kick in the conference last season, and converted two of three attempts of 40 yards or longer. Hotaling also had 45 kickoffs for 2,613 yards with five touchbacks.
Walker, meanwhile, was named to the All-Centennial Conference Second Team last fall. He led the team in receptions (38), receiving yards (615) and touchdowns (5). Walker had a career game against Franklin & Marshall with 11 receptions for 201 yards and two scores. His 11 catches were fourth-most in a single game in Crusader history while his 201 yards were fifth most.
