SELINSGROVE, Pa. – At Friday's fourth Quarterback Club Luncheon of the fall, Susquehanna senior wide receiver and tri-captain Denzell Walker (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh School) was named the Wealth Professionals/Gus Weber Player of the Week for his performance at Dickinson on Sept. 20.
Last weekend, Walker had three catches for 70 yards and one touchdown in a one-point loss at Dickinson. For the season, Walker leads the team with 240 yards receiving with two touchdowns and is averaging 80 yards per game.
In addition to the partnership with Wealth Professionals, the Player of the Week award is also named in honor of late Susquehanna president Gustave Weber, who was SU's president for more than 18 years. He was also an avid Crusader athletics booster who actually served as head football coach for the final two games of the 1965 season.
