SELINSGROVE, Pa. – At Friday's fifth Quarterback Club Luncheon of the fall, Susquehanna freshman quarterback Nick Crusco was named the Wealth Professionals/Gus Weber Player of the Week for his performance against Gettysburg on Sept. 27. It marks his second Player of the Week honor this season.
Last Saturday, Crusco threw for 336 yards on 29 completions with two touchdowns in a 31-21 loss to the Bullets. Through four starts this season, he is second in the Centennial Conference in passing average (236.5 yards per game) and has thrown for 946 yards and seven touchdowns.
In addition to the partnership with Wealth Professionals, the Player of the Week award is also named in honor of late Susquehanna president Gustave Weber, who was SU's president for more than 18 years. He was also an avid Crusader athletics booster who actually served as head football coach for the final two games of the 1965 season.
The entire Centennial Conference will enjoy a bye week on Oct. 11 before returning to action on Oct. 18 when SU travels to Moravian for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
