SELINSGROVE, Pa. – At the sixth Quarterback Club Luncheon of the fall, Susquehanna fullback Pat Murtha (Farmingdale, N.J./Colts Neck) and running back Tim Wade (Doylestown, Pa./La Salle College HS) were named the Wealth Professionals/Gus Weber Players of the Week for their performances against Muhlenberg on Oct. 4.
Murtha attended Friday's luncheon where he made a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
Murtha was a key factor in allowing Wade to rush for 200-plus yards against the Mules with solid blocking. Wade finished with 202 yards and averaged 6.5 yards per carry.
In addition to the partnership with Wealth Professionals, the Player of the Week award is also named in honor of late Susquehanna president Gustave Weber, who was SU's president for more than 18 years. He was also an avid Crusader athletics booster who actually served as head football coach for the final two games of the 1965 season.
The Crusaders hit the road Saturday to face Moravian at 1 p.m. in Bethlehem, the first of back-to-back road games for SU.
