Hotaling, Miller Named Conference Players of the Week

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna seniors Spencer Hotaling (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) and Cody Miller (Towanda, Pa./Towanda) were named the Centennial Conference Special Teams and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. These mark the first weekly conference honors of the season for SU.

Hotaling booted a 40-yard, game-winning field goal in the Crusaders' 24-21 win at Moravian on Saturday, SU's first win of the season. He also averaged 41.5 on his four punts, including a 55-yarder and another inside the 20, and was 3-for-3 on extra-point attempts.

Through six games this season, Hotaling has punted 23 times for 845 yards (41.5 yards per punt), including two of 50-plus yards. He also has 26 kickoffs for 1450 yards (59.2 yards per kick) with seven touchbacks. Hotaling is also 15-for-17 in extra point attempts and 3-for-5 in field goals.

Meanwhile, Miller racked up seven tackles against the Greyhounds, five of which were solo tackles. He also had one fumble recovery, one pass break-up and a game-high two interceptions, his first two picks of the season.

Miller has appeared in all six games this season and has 43 tackles, tied for third most on the team. He also has two interceptions, four pass breakups, six passes defended and one fumble recovery.

The Crusaders remain on the road to face Ursinus on Oct. 25 at 1 p.m.
