Barry Named Player of the Week

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – At the eighth Quarterback Club Luncheon of the fall, Susquehanna junior linebacker and team captain Jim Barry (Staten Island, N.Y./Brooklyn Poly Prep) was named the Wealth Professionals/Gus Weber Players of the Week for his performance at Ursinus on Oct. 25.

Against the Bears, Barry had a team-high 16 tackles, 11 of which were solo. Barry not only leads the Centennial Conference in tackles this season with 90, he is also fourth among all Division III players with an average of 12.9 tackles per game.

In addition to the partnership with Wealth Professionals, the Player of the Week award is also named in honor of late Susquehanna president Gustave Weber, who was SU's president for more than 18 years. He was also an avid Crusader athletics booster who actually served as head football coach for the final two games of the 1965 season.

The Crusaders return home to host Franklin & Marshall on Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.
