Pecora Earns Player of the Week Recognition

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – At the 10th and final Quarterback Club Luncheon of the fall, Susquehanna junior defensive lineman Phil Pecora (Princeton, N.J./Pennington School/Bucknell) was named the Wealth Professionals/Gus Weber Player of the Week for his performance at McDaniel on Nov. 8.

In SU's 24-16 win over the Green Terror, Pecora had four tackles, one sack and was credited with one pass breakup. Through nine games this year, Pecora has 38 tackles, two sacks, one pass breakup, one pass defended, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.

In addition to the partnership with Wealth Professionals, the Player of the Week award is also named in honor of late Susquehanna president Gustave Weber, who was SU's president for more than 18 years. He was also an avid Crusader athletics booster who actually served as head football coach for the final two games of the 1965 season.

The Crusaders conclude the 2014 season on Nov. 15 with a home game against rival Juniata. It is also Homecoming and Senior Day.
