After Saturday's tough 27-24 loss to Franklin & Marshall, three players were selected as Players of the Week for their outstanding contributions. Tommy Bluj, Kyle Micik and Noah Schairer were named to the weekly honor as announced at the Monday Quarterback Club Luncheon.
Bluj earned his second weekly honor of the year with his selection as the Offensive Player of the Week. He also earned the Special Teams honor in week two. Against Franklin & Marshall, he hauled in nine receptions for 114 yards leading the team in both categories.
Micik earned the Defensive Player of the Week award from his nose guard position in the middle of the defensive line. He finished the game with eight tackles including three solo stops.
Schairer was the Special Teams Award winner for the week for his work on the kickoff coverage team. He registered five total tackles with three coming as a reserve linebacker including one for lost yardage. He had two stops on special teams.
The River Hawks play a second consecutive home game Saturday as they host Dickinson in another Centennial Conference matchup.
