Freshman return specialist Terrell Brown returned a punt for a touchdown to seal a 38-7 victory for the Susquehanna University Football team over Dickinson Saturday and has been selected as the Centennial Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
Late in the fourth quarter when Dickinson was punting from its own end zone, Brown took the punt from the 50-yard line and worked his was way to the sideline before turning on the speed and racing up the sideline for a 50-yard TD return.
The punt return for a TD was the first statistically since 2013 against Muhlenberg. That play, however, was the result of a blocked kick. The last punt return for a TD by a return specialist was back in 1999 when Antonia Nash returned a punt 85 yards for a score against Dickinson. Since then, Susquehanna has had 277 punt returns without a TD until Brown's score.
The River Hawks hit the road for another Centennial Conference game this Saturday at Moravian.
