Crusaders stymie Spartans, 6-0
SELINSGROVE, PA -- Sassafras Field proved to be sweet home again
for the Susquehanna field hockey team Tuesday, as they released
another barrage of scoring, this time on York College.
Sophomore Andrea Fiori (West Trenton, N.J./Lawrenceville School),
who racked up a Landmark Conference-record five goals against Wells
last week, added another three in the Crusaders' 6-0 win. She
scored first, just seven minutes into the game, on a pass from
Kristen Epting (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg).
Senior Megan Sites (Loysville, Pa./West Perry) got the next
Crusader goal just five minutes later, assisted by freshman Rebecca
Entwistle (Farmingdale, N.J./Wall). Fiori would add another in the
17th minute, tipping in a Jenelle Anthony (Saylorsburg,
Pa./Stroudsburg) pass.
The Anthony-to-Fiori combination would strike again in the 42nd
minute for Susquehanna's fourth goal. Anthony would then score the
Crusaders' next two goals, both on assists from Christine Ottley
(West Chester, Pa./Unionville).
Junior goalie Lyndsay Meabon (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) did not have
to defend much to get her second shutout, as the Spartans only took
three shots on goal.
