UNION, N.J. – Playing on the road for the first time in 2011, Susquehanna's field hockey team lost 2-0 at Kean on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Cougars' Briana Mace scored the opening goal at 24:23 to put Kean on top 1-0 and that stood as the game winner.
Kean (3-3) fired off 13 shots in the first half compared to Susquehanna's four. The Cougars held the advantage in penalty corners, 15-4.
Olivia Triano scored at 46:38 to increase the lead for Kean to 2-0. Susquehanna (2-3) registered nine shots in the second half and held the edge in penalty corners, 8-6, but could not find the back of the net.
The Crusaders' Erin Ferguson (Mount Laurel, N.J. / Seneca) recorded four saves in goal. The Cougars' Kylie Vaughn-Kuehl made four saves in the shutout.
Susquehanna will look to bounce back as they host York (Pa.) on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 4:30 p.m.
