Susquehanna Stands Second in Landmark President’s Cup Standings

TOWSON, Md. – Susquehanna University currently stands second in the Landmark Conference Fall President’s Cup standings, announced Tuesday.

Juniata leads the standings with 40.5 points (6.75 average) while SU stands in second with 39.5 points. The Crusaders won the men’s cross country and men’s soccer titles and finished in the top-three in four of six fall sports (volleyball, men’s soccer, men’s cross country, women’s cross country) to earn a 6.58 average.

The Cup is awarded based on a formula that rewards institutions for regular-season conference standings as well as results in Landmark postseason competition. Each team receives points based on its finish with top seeded teams receiving eight points, second place teams receiving seven points, etc. Additional points are awarded for conference postseason victories.

Individual sports use the championship team standings to award points and then add points for individual finishes.

The Landmark Conference sponsors 20 sport championships but at the end of the academic year, only the top 15 sport totals from each institution are included to account for the differences in sport sponsorship across the eight institutions.
