Field Hockey Picked Fifth in Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna field hockey team was picked to finish fifth in the 2016 Landmark Conference Preseason Poll.

Four-time defending champion Catholic University was selected first with 68 points and six of the seven first-place votes. Elizabethtown was second with 52 points and the remaining first-place vote. Juniata took second with 46 points, followed by Scranton (37) and Susquehanna (26).

Last fall SU went 11-5 overall, marking the most wins under head coach Kaitlyn Wahila, with a 4-3 Landmark Conference record. Two of last year's three All-Conference players return in senior midfielder Lauren Cram and junior defender Abbey Kemble.

The River Hawks open the season Sept. 2-3 when they host their annual Connie Harnum Classic.
