TOWSON, Md. – Susquehanna field hockey player Taylor Franco has been named the Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 9.
Franco nabbed two goals and one assist this week as SU went 2-0. In the first game of the week, Susquehanna defeated Notre Dame of Maryland University 9-0 on Wednesday. Franco scored the fourth goal and assisted the fifth goal of the game. She made one goal on one shot for a shooting percentage of 1.000.
The second game of the week saw SU taking on Landmark Conference rival the University of Scranton, on the road and winning 2-1. Franco scored the game-winner with only 37 seconds remaining in the game when she scored off of a goalie deflection in front of the net. Once again, Franco was one-for-one in shots.
This season, Franco leads the team in game-winners with four and is second on the team in goals (10) and points (21) and has one assist.
The River Hawks are 9-2 on the season with a 2-1 mark in Landmark Conference action.
