River Hawks Field Hockey Shuts Out Juniata

QUICK HIT: The Susquehanna field hockey team shut out Landmark opponent Juniata 1-0 on Wednesday evening.


RECORDS: The River Hawks are now 10-2, 3-1 on the season while the Eagles are 4-8 with a 1-3 mark in Landmark Conference action.


PITMAN INCREASES LEAD: Freshman forward Hunter Pitman scored the only goal of the game to give SU the 1-0 win. This marked her team-leading 13th goal this season of the season. The goal came at the 47:39 mark and was assisted by Taylor Franco, who is second on the team in goals with 10. 

LAST CHANCE: Juniata's last chance to send the game into overtime came with 52 seconds remaining in the game when Brittani LaFollette took a shot wide of the cage.

AGAINST JUNIATA: The last time SU defeated Juniata was in 2012 when the team won 1-0 at home.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE: Susquehanna took 11 shots to Juniata's eight while totaling nine corners to the Eagles' four. Pitman led all players with four shots while Emily Novakovich tallied three. Freshman goalie Emily DiGaetano earned her fourth win of the season with five saves in her 70 minutes of work.
