Veteran Coach Named Head Field Hockey Coach at Susquehanna

The Susquehanna University athletic administration did not have to search far to find a new head Field Hockey coach with experience and local recruiting ties as the University announced Monday the hiring of Allison Fordyce as the new head coach.

Fordyce, who was an assistant coach during two stints with the Susquehanna University Field Hockey teams, also has experience as a head coach with York College and the College of Notre Dame in Maryland.

The assistant coach with both the field hockey and women's lacrosse teams at Susquehanna served in that capacity since 2012 and was also an assistant coach from 2008-10. In 2011, Fordyce worked with the Selinsgrove High School team helping the Seals to the Pennsylvania State semifinal game.

The 1998 graduate of Towson University, also holds a Master's degree from McDaniel.

Fordyce and the River Hawks open the 2017 season September 2 against Wilkes University in the first round of the annual Harnum Classic Tournament in Selinsgrove.
