The Susquehanna University Field Hockey team is getting an early start to preseason practices with a team building trip to Bermuda. The team departed for the island August 6 and will be sightseeing, training and participating in competition against one of the Bermuda national teams.
"This is a great opportunity for the player to get to know each other a little better before we start the season of practices and games at the end of the month," said first year head coach Allison Fordyce. "This trip would not have been possible without the support of our fans, alumni and families through their donations to the Orange and Maroon Club and the 30-for-30 campaign over the summer."
In the first competition for the River Hawks, the team dropped a close 1-0 decision to a club team in Bermuda. The Bermuda team is also playing other college teams during their visits to Bermuda.
The trip was organized by Zag Sports.
