Men’s Basketball: The Crusaders (9-6, 3-2) return to O.W. Houts Gym after going 1-1 in Landmark action over the weekend. SU plays the University of Scranton (12-4, 5-0) on Friday, Jan. 20 at 5:30 p.m. Livestats can be found here. Video for this contest can be accessed here.
Matt McGugan (Silver Spring, Md. / Blake) led the team with 13 points in a 77-64 loss at Catholic on Friday night. The Crusaders bounced back with a 77-74 victory over Goucher on Saturday evening, led by Brendan Rezny (Sparta, N.J. / Sparta) and Harley Sellinger (Mill Hall, Pa. / Central Mountain), who each had 19 points.
SU is coming off a tough road trip, going 0-2 over the weekend. Eleni Dimou (Center Valley, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) and Jonaida Williams (Williamsport, Pa. / Loyalsock Twp.) scored 12 and 11 points, respectively in a 65-42 loss at Catholic on Friday night. Senior Korey McCaffrey (Millheim, Pa. / Penns Valley Area) sank a three-pointer in the waning seconds of regulation, but Goucher prevailed in overtime 59-56 on Saturday evening.
Men’s and Women’s Swimming: The Crusaders are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 2:00 p.m. as they host Landmark opponents Drew and Juniata (women only).
SU swept both meets over the past weekend by defeating Messiah
and earning a road win at Marywood. The men defeated the Falcons
116-89 and the women won 137-68. The men beat the Pacers 131-53 and
the women won 123-92.
Following the weekend’s meets, Josh Heller (Rockville, Md. / Colonel Zadok Magruder) was tabbed the Landmark Conference Male Swimmer of the week.
Men’s and Women’s Track & Field: SU has its first home track & field meet of 2012 in the Orange and Maroon Classic on Sunday, Jan. 22, starting at 10:00 a.m. This is the first meet since the Crusaders went to Bucknell on Dec. 3.
