This week, the Susquehanna Athletics Communications office "catches up with" freshman Steven Weidlich (Watchung, N.J. / Watchung Hills), who is second on the men's basketball team with 15.5 ppg. The Crusaders head to Moravian on Saturday for a Landmark Conference clash at 2 p.m.

Why did you choose to attend Susquehanna?
The strength of the Sigmund Weiss School of Business, the people at school and the school's atmosphere is much more energetic than any of the other schools I visited. Coach Marcinek also played a huge role in my decision to come to Susquehanna, as well as the upperclassmen I met on my visits.

What has been your favorite class so far? 
In the fall semester of my freshman year I really enjoyed Writing and Thinking with Professor Verhoeven and Business Statistics with Mr. Wilkerson.

Why did you select your major?

I think business really suits my personality.  I also had the opportunity to take accounting classes in high school and I would like to pursue a career in this area of study.

What is your favorite athletic memory as a Crusader thus far into your career? 
The trip to Puerto Rico.

What are your goals, both individually and as a team, for this season? 
Win the Landmark Conference Championship.

What is your go-to song to get pumped up for competition? 
"Ambition" by Wale

The most embarrassing thing that's happened to me on the court is…. 

Scoring for the other team off the tip in middle school.

The best part about road trips with my team is… 
The bus ride home after a big win.

What advice do you have for a prospective SU student-athlete? 
Focus on time management and especially sleep management. 

My favorite midnight snack is… 
Peanut butter crackers

If you could meet anyone, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
Kobe Bryant. Growing up in L.A., I idolized him every time I played or watched basketball.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? 
Bora Bora. It seems like the most beautiful place in the world.

NBA 2k Master

What was your biggest high school achievement? 
Scoring 1,000 points.
