Susquehanna Basketball Welcomes Van Pelt to Staff

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University men’s basketball head coach Frank Marcinek has announced Gregor Van Pelt will join his staff as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2013-14 campaign.

Van Pelt comes to SU after having spent the past two years as an assistant coach at Division II East Stroudsburg. He was on the staff of two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoff teams, including a 2011-12 squad that captured the PSAC championship. Van Pelt assisted in scouting and recruiting and was also responsible for conducting individual player workouts as well as film exchange.

Prior to his two years at East Stroudsburg, Van Pelt played one season of college basketball at Wentworth Institute of Technology (2007-08) before moving on to serve as a student assistant coach with the program. He graduated from Wentworth in August of 2011 with a degree in management with a concentration in technology management. Van Pelt went on to earn his Master’s degree in exercise science from East Stroudsburg.

Van Pelt hails from Flemington, N.J. where he attended Blair Academy (N.J.) and played basketball under head coach Joe Mantegna.
