Hedley Named Landmark Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – Susquehanna junior guard Brandon Hedley (Silver Spring, Md./Salisbury Prep) has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, announced Monday afternoon.

Hedley averaged 30 points per game last week with 30 points against both Goucher and Elizabethtown as SU picked up victories in both contests.

Against the Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon, Hedley set a school record with 10 threes, surpassing the previous record of nine. He shot 10-for-16 for the game with all 16 shots coming from beyond the arc. He also added six assists, three rebounds and two steals.

On Wednesday, he had 30 points on 10-of-19 shooting, including an 8-for-16 performance from three-point range. Hedley added five assists and two steals, as well.

Through 25 starts this season, Hedley leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.2 points per game. He is logging 33 minutes per contest, shooting 43.2 percent overall and 42.2 percent from three-point range. He leads the team with 101 assists to just 37 turnovers and also has a team-high 34 steals.

SU finished the regular season with a 19-6 record, including a 12-4 mark in Landmark play. The Crusaders secured the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference Tournament and take on No. 2 seed Scranton on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Royals' Long Center.
