Men’s Hoops Picked Second

TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna men's basketball team was picked to finish second in the Landmark Conference Preseason Poll.

The Catholic University of America – which finished second a year ago – was pegged to finish first with 80 points and eight first-place votes. The Crusaders took second with 57 points, followed by Scranton (56 points), Drew (36), Juniata (33), USMMA (32), Goucher (24), Elizabethtown (22) and Moravian (11). The Gophers received the remaining first-place vote.

Susquehanna advanced to the semifinals of the Landmark Tournament last season and returns four of five starters under head coach Frank Marcinek who, along with his assistants, were named the 2014-15 Landmark Coaching Staff of the Year. Also back are three All-Conference players from a year ago in Brandon Hedley, Josh Miller and Steven Weidlich.

SU opens the season Nov. 17 with a 7 p.m. game at Misericordia.
