SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna men's basketball player Josh Miller and women's indoor track athlete Ashley West have been named the SAAC/Pepsi Super Crusaders for the week ending January 24.
Miller, a senior, had a double-double in SU's lone game of the week with 20 points and 15 rebounds in just 26 minutes of work in a 98-67 win over Goucher College. He shot 50 percent from the floor, 40 percent (2-5) from behind the arch and was 8-8 at the free throw line. He also tallied one assist and one block.
This season, Miller has started all 17 games and leads the team with 16.6 points per game. He is shooting 53 percent from the floor, 37 percent from the three-point range and a team–high 85.3 percent from the free throw line. He also has 32 assists, 11 blocks and 13 steals.
The No. 15 Crusaders are 16-1 overall, with a 7-1 mark in Landmark Conference games; they remain 8-0 at home and return to action in Wednesday, Jan. 27 at Catholic University for a 7:00 p.m. game.
West, also a senior, set a school record in the 3k with her first-place time of 19:29.27, more than 20 seconds ahead of the runner-up at the team's opening meet in which they hosted – The Orange and Maroon Classic. The time is roughly 10 seconds faster than the previous school record and is the fourth-fastest time in Landmark Conference history.
The women's team returns to action on Jan. 29-30 at the Bison Open & Multi, hosted by Bucknell University.
